What is Trail Spice?!
Trail spice is that little bit of dirt or forest debris that sneaks its way into your backcountry snack.
I’ve also started calling the sticks and leaves that get caught in my hair or pine needles that fall down my pants trail spice too… These are little bits of forest spice from the trail that follow me home and remind me of swimming in alpine lakes, bushwhacking to secret views and glissading down mountain heather.
This is where my pieces get their inspiration: from the wild landscapes, thick forests, and turquoise glacial lakes; caribou in the alpine and braided salmon streams. They’re wearable love letters to my favorite places. A little piece of trail spice to wear and remind you of the wild untamed landscapes
Hey! I'm Nicole, the maker behind Trail Spice Designs. I am a completely self taught artist who makes handmade jewelry for women who love unique pieces that have connection to
the beautiful untamed landscapes they love adventuring in.
I see my work as love letters to my favorite mountains and streams, and the flora and fauna that call them home. In my pieces I incorporate birch bark and porcupine quills that I find on my adventures. I also incorporate colorful stones in my silverwork that remind me of the diverse wild landscapes. I hope my work inspires a love for these wild places and a desire to get out and do more of what makes you happy.
